Waitaki District

The Waitaki district is sparsely populated and filled with farms. Lying 59% in the Canterbury Region who control the entire Waitaki river, it spans from the Pacific Ocean all the way up the Hopkins Valley above Lake Ohau.

The Waitaki has some pretty interesting stuff, The Clay Cliffs of Omarama which are a pretty cool Badlands, not to many of these around this country. There are the Elephant rocks, which are limestone obelisks sticking out of a grassy green paddock. And lets not forget the Steam Punk Headquarters of Oamaru.
